who is 'me?

anyone looking for an emo hellhole, kindly make your way to elysa_'s ljfriends page. as my current mood is far from sympathetic or emo (which would make me auto-sympathetic to fellow emo-ers), i read my friends' page and i laughed. a bad, cynical laugh. both at the pang of familiarity from some feelings expressed (and those not...) - inevitable comrades in the Battle of the 'A's - and at how much some parts of some people have changed and similarly how much hasn't. as they say, change is the only constant. so what makes a person? if i am forever changing, it means i don't have an identity that's fixedly me - by identity im obviously talking about the intangible parts that make a person. on the side,if the retort u had in ur mind as u read my above questioning of identity was 'u have ur IC! HA.HA.HA.', then u'r probably one of those people who don't take me seriously; this issue is such a bane in my life that the scar it used to leave me is now just a minor scratch - but no matter the point is, there are times when a person would like to be regarded as more than the sarcastic joker whose purpose for existence is to suan every other human being she comes in contact with... then again if the world is a stage and life is a production, i suppose everyone would have a role to play. <-by this i am not succumbing to a fixed role in all ur lives (this is an impossibility for me-right now at least given my odd tempremental nature), as i have not stated my agreement of the pov that the world is a stage, merely noting a passing thought as it seemed relevant. but whatever; saying this has never bettered the situaiton, so why should it just now?
anyway, would change and its everlasting ubiquity mean that i am only me for that moment? and the very next, i would be a new person. another me. if so, how then does one 'be true to themselves'? being true to the 'them' that they are at that point in time? which might very well be false 1 minute later! i am unwilling to give up on me - afterall i am all i've really got and i've gotta take good care of me as i am ultimately not mine to keep for when i return to my maker, i hope i can do it with dignity - but WHO is this 'me' that i am?
