^ specially dedicated to the lovely girlies who shared my tent, sang crazy songs with me, lighted up my days, basically who were always there for me if i needed a shoulder to lie on or someone to talk and for lifting me up whenever i was down... you know who you are, and i am so freaking glad you dont know how glad, to have gotten to know you all that much more during jex.. i LOVE you!! (: oh no im crying :P

sighz.. i wanna wake up in the morning snuggling out of my sleeping bag, peering out of a tent, out to the super pretty sun-touched beach and sea, thanking god for making nature so beautiful for me to see. i wanna cook mee sua and pasta and eat cereal and digestives and nutella and tuna. i wanna rise to a challenge each and every day, beginning with the end in mind and meeting then overcoming obstacles and troubled waters with my fantabulous pals, cheering each other on, helping one another in our stride, riding the rollercoaster of a wave together. sharing everything; food water bags tents chairs jokes stories toothpaste sunblock clothes, and especially the satisfaction and joy, with them when all is done it only makes the experience ten times sweeter. i wanna fall asleep only after chatting in whispers (and the inevitable laughter) with my friends. i'd enjoy long bus rides of songs, shows, cards, long naps, angel-mortal notes, i nevers, dare or dares and so much more in between. i wanna get to know so many more people so much more, all you wonderful odac22 people.

okays... let's go back to the start; the journey begins. odac22 gathers at rj specs gal at 6.30, bright and early; everyone's still dazed and sleepy but all set to start on our adventure that is JEX- June EXpedition. group logs given out, bagpacks stuffed up and JEX shirt (designed by yingzi! yay) distributed. passports checked, whitecards given out and off we go onboard the bus!

stuck in Singapore for dunno how freaking long thanks to the immigration jam and somewhow made it to Paka River Camp, Terengganu Malaysia 13 hours later. no night-kayaking for us hahax.the in between is filled with introduction to iskandar the instructor, loads of dozing, songs, solving of murder puzzles, blonde (and some non-blonde) jokes, ice age, and of course, bridge bridge bridge xD yes i remember the on-way-to-paka bridge games; i think i lost all but one :P and qianhua played the Game of the Expedition, bidding up to 5 with only one King and between her and her partner, winning all 13 sets. WOOOHOOO oh yes and we decided to play taitee for awhile and i got a beautiful hand- 3 all the way to 2 consecutively. so pretty right!!! :) but i lost XP HAHA

alrights, so yes DAY1- Paka River Camp. by the time we got there, it was all but pitch black. we unload our bags, check out the toilets (haha eh important ok!!), and sit for a yummylicious dinner. then, packed our shared bags for the camp on Tenggol Island and geared up for the 32km kayaking trip we will be making the next morning. muesli bars, raisins, chocolates; the little yummies all go into the Ziplocs, together with the all-essential Sunblock. goodnight, sleep tight, snug in our sleeping bags. zzzzz

DAY2- rise and shine all in uniform- JEX shirts and longs we sit for breakfast, taking a few snaps here and there, first time seeing the camp under sunlight. breakfast is bihun and we happily chomp it down.

we bus over to the launching point (where we saw a rainbow!! (: ) and load the Tenggol bags onto the boat. the ocean sand bar stretches across the ocean which is superduper vast but thank goodness, pretty calm. we warm up on the beach as well as do the buoyancy test in the sea where the quicksand-esque sand threatens to swallow our shoes hahaz :D
and then, we set off. wheeee with gina and willy pointing the way and the determined single-kayakers pushing along we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and we kayak, and so on. haha. i started off doubling with ggleong, who had a sore throat but refusing to let that prevent him from making some noise, he whistles to the tune of 'My Tenggol lies over the ocean'. soon he leaves to rescue nicole from her bathtub kayak and so i have a new partner! nicole and i switch places soon after so i was steering- felt wierd- im usually infront- to not be able to see directly infront and having my sight of the horizon blocked, but it was quite fun and i got use to it. we had a couple of seasick incidents (almost everyone was at mildly seasick at some point here la ah.. contributing puked bihun to the sea. haha) but licui came back onto a double and ralph rested in the boat and qianhua found a new partner in mr.loh (luckyduck) and michelle was being so Power, so yup lalalalalalaaaa we kayaked on till Tenggol Island went from one finger wide to one palm wide till (joyyy!!!!!) we couldnt cover it even with our two (soaked and wrinkled) palms. and it was about then when we muster up every drop of energy we had and cheonged all the way to Tenggol Island, adding oil to one another (yes gerald leong, kayaks dont use oil...) and finallllly we saw the clear blue waters of Tenggol Beach!!!

i went to the toilet to bathe and after joyfully shampooing and soaping my whole self feeling oh-so-satisfied when i turn on the tap, FREAKKKKK not a single drop of water emerges! for 30 seconds i try so desperately to revive my water supply, but to no avail. the water supply had run dry. perfect, just perfect!!! ohmygoodness the sadness that washed over me as i asked licui to help me get my 500ml bottle of water to wash off the soap and shampoo. anyways, yes, the water supply came back later on. i woke up next morning with rashes on my arms and legs but they werent THAT bad thank god, just the usual irritating itch. still, bLAH. my tent happily thought that we were the earliest to setle down for bedtime (or tenttime) so we chattered on, playing with shadows and LOL-ing and in angie's case, suddenly giggling cum vibrating at her own thoughts, making the rest of us erupt in laughter as well. HAHAHAs XD we found out the next day we were distubing the neighbouring tent :P woopsiez.

DAY3- on Tenggol Island. wake up time was 8am (woohooo! (:) and by the time I woke up, peeps were already walking along the beach, soaking their feet in the transparent water, basking in the just risen sun; just taking in our oh-so-pretty surroundings. our- mine nicole angie licui's- tent was the most upfront so the zipping open of the tent door presented us immediately with the cool island breeze and calm sea water lapping softly on the beach. sighhh. :)) **you're the closest to heaven that i've ever been* (what song is that ah..is it googoodolls' iris?) talk about a fantastically chio scenery...

okay okay haha anyways, we had bread and nutella and tuna and digestives for breakfast and angie sau and me happily helped ensure the nutella bottle was spanking clean. hahas :D after that it was free and easy till 11, so some of us took a dip, some went back to slumberland, some sat around and chattered, some did other stuffies, and some, namely me weepin yida marvin (who is not in odac, but is the mr.boss' son and cam along with us on our expedition) nicole qianhua meiting willy alan angie licui and one more person..was it yishan? eh no dont think so eh actually i cant remember hmm borrowed the frisbee and played ultimate frisbee on the beach!! wheee so funnn marvin was surprisingly (cos he'd never played frisbee before) good and my team (him, wp, yd, nicole, me) had a whale of a time and im pretty sure the other team did too :)* yays! after that me and qianhua stopped resisting the temptation of the sea calling out to us to venture in and we joined louise, strapping on our PFDs and goggles and bobbing into the cool water. wheeee. after a superduper yummy pasta with tomato sauce and carbonara sauce (separately, of course. haha) lunch, we hopped into our kayaks again - weepin was my partner for the day- and kayaked a short 3km to the neighbouring island, which is a diving site, and went snorkeling!! XD we swam with (even though we couldnt go deep thanks to the fabulous PFDs haha) the fish and looked at the corals and i saw several Nemos!!! beifen was looking for squigwert (how is his name spelt anyways..), but im quite sure she din find him haha. michelle was pro-ly diving under (yes, with the freaking PFD!) to take a closer look at the underwater stuffies and me and beifen tried and failed quite miserably. my goggles dropped in (they werent even mine! they're linda's, btw..) but thankfully mr.shah retrieved them for me PHew! we climbed aboard the boat to get back to Tenggol, and michelle gina rachel yishan me got front row seats. haha. woohooo we passed flying (or jumping) fish, the wondeful wind and returned to Tenggol.

we had catered dinner that night, and we sat infront of the tv at Tenggol Resort (HAHA) and watched The Wig, me with one hand scoping the rice and chicken, the other covering my face. haha. angie's the best; she sat in the front row with me and licui and nicole, but with her back directly to the tv, watching us watching The Wig. lolz. soon it was tenttime and we settled down for the last night on Tenggol Island.

DAY4- i had sentry duty with zhixuan gavan nicole this night. we rose at 2.30 (ok, actually 2.40.heh) and made ourselves comfortable at the house and played bridge and introduing nicole to bloody knuckles! hahaha. as we did sentry, the aroma of our breakfast to come- nasi lemak- wafted out of the kitchen; yum yum (: hee. 4am shift ended and 4.15 was wakeup time, so the campsite began to awake oh-so-sleepily. the campsite was cleared; bagpacks lined, tents taken down, clothesline removed and the kayaks were prepared for the journey back; kayaks positioned, towlines were fixed night before. by 6am we were all set to go! (: my partner is alan, and due to circumstance (im not complaining, just stating..) we remained partners the whole way through. he was supposed to switch with meiting's single, but since we got separated and were prolly kms apart, that became impossible. the sea today was choppy and the waves were so awesome, so the speed boats towed us partway kayaking or being towed, we were riding the waves together!! wheee. felt like so much fun till you turn and look around and realise you've been paddling furiously at the same spot for such a darn long time. pffft. while being towed the towlines broke like 5 (million!) times or so and in the end there were essentially 3 groups of us- the singles, the doubles who beached up and boated back cos yishan and lawrence's kayak was being a dingdong, and my group, where the towline kept happily breaking away till the speed bpat people told us to kayak back ourselves, around the bay of funny rocks and to the sand bar. "the bay is very calm" hahaha im so sure!! as we (alan n i) paddled parallel to gleong's kayak the waves were so fantastic that when we rose on the wave, they would disappear out of sight for a while. so happening right!! hahaz. :D so yes, we paddled like mad to the sand bar where they totally cheated our feelings by letting us beach up and celebrate and then telling us to kayak some more back to mainland, which was not too far away, but stillll. -_- grr. and ryan had already rewarded himself with a jelly some more. haahaha. XD on our return to Paka River Camp we washed up, i shampooed and soaped and everything nice (haha), had dinner and it was campfire night!!

(even if there was no campfire :P) heez. the items were pretty darn hilarious. grp1's dance was quite cool as yeesian displayed his hidden talent. HAHA grp 2's noodles were freaking POK but we laughed all the way anyways. haha. my group played a warped chop chilli chop hahaa and it was hilarious to see the failed coordination between the 2 joint people and most people ended up having 4 hands XP hahas. grp4's amusing skit starred the 3 teachers and that was really funny and silly. after singing and jumping to odac songs, we packed our bags for the climb tomorrow..

and licui beifen and i chatted for a bit then we went to sleeeep. beifen says i rolled over to her i the night-time; and there was a gap bare wooden floor between my sleeping bag and hers, so yes there i was lying on the floor till i woke up and realised, and rolled right back to my sleeping bag and my blown up ziploc pillow

DAY5- breakfast was MILO mixed with the taste of bandung from last night, and it was uber sweeeet hahaha so we had iced-bandunged-milo. yep. grp pics were taken as we'd never be returning to Paka Camp again (byebyeee!!) and we set off for Gunung Cemerung.

i was sound asleep the entire way there. the climb up Cemerung was.. haha wahh shiok manz my legs wanted to die! hahaz. difference from Belumut would be even though Belumut was (duhh) a longer hike, Cemerung had a smaller portion of relatively flat ground and it was ber-lumut (muddy) like nobody's business!! hahaz. we crossed the river, stepping on stones and wetting our legs (so fun! hee(:) twice and hiked on singing and cheering away to keep our spirits up.

iskandar stole nicole's hat by lifting it off her head with his walking stick, and even though it was very mean, it was just as pro-ly done. haiya poor nicole; iskandar's a jerk manz. kaoy niways, after a few cuts and grazes, a few falls, we reached the waterfall and took pics and had our chicken rice packed lunch and green apple perched on the rock. angie licui qianhua beifen and i took an L-O-V-E pic :) perched precariously on the rock with the waterfall as bg, but turned out the waterfall couldnt be seen in the phot -_- haha but no fear haha we took a grp3 girls phot with the waterfall in sight. :) din get the chance to take a downward view pic, but nemminds hopefully someone else did. :)

on the way down it was surely less tiring and trying, but as nicole-lobster (taking a leaf from mr/leong's bk hehe) stumbled along trying hard not to force licui to count the number of times she fell using her toes, having run out of fingers, it was already pretty exciting; and then it rained. wahh rained like really rained like wooooots.(okay that's not an adjective hahax) so on went the ponchos and as the green people marched along down the mountain we looked some funny cult. hahaha :D

finally we were (relatively) dry as we'd washed up and nicole and beifen had crashed down onto the rubbish bin (lolz im sorry it was just so funny.. i had to mention it) we loaded onto the bus and i sat with my 102/202-mates: sau and rachel pok!! (: hahaz. angie and nicole took a pic of themselves and right after, my cam spoilt. haha was quite funny. but i figured it's just some water which entered the lens, but i guess it either came out or evaporated.. since it's alright again this morning. :)

so erm yea, that's why from this point on there aret anymore pics of JEX.. ):

yep so we were chatting away, quite happy at our happening adventure and at the prospect of the villa to come UNTIL!!! haha until the stinko smell of shit overwhelmed the entire bus- hahaha ohmyshit i still remember rachel's face when the smell started diffusing; still makes me laugh hahahahaaa omg it was so havoc. meiting walked along the aisle spraying some deodrant that if possible made the smell even worse and sau sprayed impulse that luckily saved my nose. haha. in the end, noone shat in their pants.. ahaha it was just the engine, but it really smelt like shit haha. the smell slowly disappeared and all was well once again. XD

we had dinner at a Restoran (haha) which had a toilet which has no light, which the door cant close properly much less lock, and had no freaking ceiling!!! haha. i badly badly needed to pee so i did it under the moonlight **everybody's peeing in the moonlight; everybody's feeling warm and bright* XP hahas. yep anws, so dinner was alright- we had a buffet variety of rice and noodles and everybody took a bit of some and tried more than one. there was also satay, but the mark of this dinner was the fruits!! hahaha *fruits here fruits there fruits fruits everywhere! we had langsat,rambutan,papaya,mango,durian and maybe soemore that i din eat. wahhh yumzyumz- preparing us for the toilet at the villa later on lols. my tablemates were angie, nicole, licui, qianhua, siyu and we were later joined by beifen and ms.lim (who is so chio) who was wondering why we're not with the rest of the girls and actually everyone else haha but we were actually pretty comfortable having our own meaningful conversation at our table and siyu and nicole found out serendipitious stuff about ms.lim and it was all pretty much fun and easy :) yay. then we (jay -_-) walked over to the resort villa and grp3&4 girls shared a villa, so my villamates were grp3 girls: angie, meiting, nicole, sau, licui and grp4 girls: kelly, yishan, charlene, qianhua and singying. yupyup. angie nicole and singying practically immediately headed for the bed and plopped off to sleep once we had settled down (and shitted hahaha) and stuff. the rest played cards and watched the opening match, which was pretty dull and sau can testify as she fell asleep on the sofa watching it hahahz, yishan was boiling water XD (the other villa's electric kettle had been set on fire on the stove haha but it was all alright in the end), meiting was busy (as always) settling thingies and the world was wonderful... :) licui and me, after lazing around, playing stress and finally decidind that there is a limit to how much lazing around we can do in one night hahaha finally turned in at 4am. snorezzzzzz.

DAY6- my bed (me, qianhua, sauling) woke up about 8am and everyone else was already bustling about, frying eggs and packing bags. being the pigies we were, we stretched and continued to lie in bed hahaha. when we finally got out of bed it was to scrambled eggs, honeystars and milk :) wheee!! the morning was quite rushed what with missing plates and a glass and the once again, stuffing of bagpacks. but finally we were good to go, we took an odac22 shot, thanked the Paka people and set off aboard the bus where once more the only way of making it along the aisle was to crouch and climb on the handrests..lolz. though i din have much crouching to do anyways given my height..

the bus journey back involved stopping over at kuantan and shopping, where we were practically stuck at BodyGlove as meiting and licui and qianhua and gerard (haha-for his sis la) pondered over what to buy among the many chio stuffs in the shop aand made the difficult choice, forgoing one or two items as their opp. cost OKAY lets get back on track. then we went to buy lunch, vcds, dvds, i bought a couple of shirts and somehow managed to do it within an hour. whee. so back onto the bus we got, clmbling back to our seats and being happy for the shopping trip but wishing for more time and more money (hahaa what new. XP) we had a karaoke session and ryan turned into the boyband boy he really is as the bus crooned to songs from dunno when (nong nong ago). movies were played, songs were sung, cards were played and we basically spent the afternoon bumming about, as much as oe can possibly bum about in a bus. angels and mortals were corresponding like mad and notes were shakily scribbled onto cardboard, receipts, and many random pieces of paper.

okays yesh then after napping we played bridge and somehow we went on to playing I NEVER!! oh.my.freaking.gawsh. playing i never with qianhua ah, is like revelation session of the year, what with her i never nots and such erm erratic i never(not)s. haiyoz... it began with a pretty calm game, the revealing of pretty interesting stuffies, and then after we tried to play with the boys and finally decided it cant be done, the game like became some rollercoaster haahahah XP and we were exclaiaming and guffawing like siao. hahaz..oh then we played dare or dare, and beifen conveniently decided she din wanna play anymore. hahahaz. abit ambarrassing, :P but at least it was better than truth or truth la...:D okiedokes so we reach Singapore immigration, changed bus, went through customs and went home to rj... singing Home. :) i din wanna go back :P veh sad that JEX has ended... but neverminds, you can choose to see it as an end, or a beginning- 'sall up to you.

mum fetched me from school, i think she was one of the 1st to be in school and we were the 1st to leave the school hahahaz so exciting.. we had dinner at the coffeeshop which was spilling over with people sitting, standing, wtvring to watch the world cup on that coffeeshop's plasma tv. haha. somehow, my tummy really hurt then; i think at 1st because of cramps and later because of the mixture of junk i consumed during the bus ride. haha- my tigers, honeystars, nicole's trix, chocolate (lots of), milk, twisties, sweeties, zappel (from i never.. hahax) and dunno what else. XD happy food, sau calls her snickers and the rest of her mobile lunch which got swept away by the waves and (she speculates) will wash up onto the shore of some dunno-where place and the dunno-who person who finds her ziploc with her preserved snickers and other happy food will be very happy. :D lols.

DAY7- i have calamine lotion on my arms and legs, hahaz.. i am feeling very very lonely and very very sian at home (elyna and linda slept over at grandma's place last night and mum's conducting a workshop this morning.) and being very lazy to clear my bagpack and it's raining very heavily and im feeling very sad cos JEX is over. and i will have to start studying some time soon or i will die for commons haiya prolly start last week of hols and die anyway.. ): no!!! cannot!!! must study must study must study. i shall look for people to study with me hahahz since i am superduper layzee when im on my own and especially superduper extremely layzee when im on my own AND need to study. blahz.

okays, where should i post this entry- it is currently in the form of a notepad document since i took 3 hours to type this out but it's alright since it's the one activity i can actually bring myself to do right now. oh and i've uploaded the phots maybe i'll insert some here. ok should i post this on personal or odac blog? hmmmzzz hey, this must be my longest entry, like, ever! hahax wonder how long it'll appear on my blog. lolz. wonder who will bother to read this except for me :D hahax

and then there's post production party tomorrow, which i think i'll give a miss
