kabhi alvida naa kehna

yesterday night we were roaming about aimlessly (ok not THAT aimlessly; we wanted to catch the firworks, but we missed them :P) when we decided to watch a movie. lake house, maybe... to see if it's true what they say that the movie's actually disappointing or maybe click, just because. but THEN we stumbled upon a new release! 11.10pm tickets were 'seling fast' and it was only 9pm! then we caught sight of the movie poster showing the cast, and of course we had to watch it! no more doubt about it; we didnt care that the only tickets left were front rows ones- we took our chances.

presenting, my new favourite movie! (: it's in theatres now! and no, i dont mean at bedok; i caught this at GV Tamp! (:
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (Never Say Goodbye)
- a love that will break all relationships-

this is the sweetest, most swoonable, tear-jerking movie experience ever; right from the start through to the end! a gorgeous cast (not only the people heh, i also mean the combination ;) ) im very pleased with it (: ie. ShahRukh Khan (gosh he's so lovable i cant stand it!) was being handsome and annoying (and thus oh so charming :D) , rani mukerjee is so sweet and super chio i cant stand it also hahaha and her voice is omg to die for!! *remembers kabhi kushi kabhi gham, Preity Zinta is really pretty and so fused into orangputihness haha. i think she played her character very well. then there's the two Bachchans; Amitabh and Abhishek who played father-son (surprise! -_-) and their life is really humourous :D

it is set and shot in NY City, no less, and portrays really modern living (their houses are so so chio! i want!!! oh and maya's coats are so jambu! sighz.) and a very Americanised setting (think train stations and cafes), english is regularly spoken (of course, there were subtitles to help me through the larger part of the movie; i couldnt have done without- the script was superduper pretty! really really!) and of course, it would be totally incomplete without the song and dance, and this time round the soundtrack is actually quite impressive; kind to the ears and pleasant to listen to and the lyrics were very meaningful and highly relevant omgdness i LIKE!! haha.

to me, the bestest bestest part of this movie is that there is no bad guy; no villain- makes the story much more applicable and easy to relate to and feel for- without having to spare emotion hating the bad guy, feelings are focussed on the more important plot. that is, how even when it seems such a natural path to take, if the love isnt there then they were not actually made for each other for life, the balance of friendship and romance; how they can sometimes replace each other and then you find yourself so confused, forbidden love, undying love (even though this theme is not as central as in Mohabbatein), being happy without being happy etc. etc.

go watch then you'll get it. :)

this is a MUST NOT MISS for all romance comedies fans like me (: yes all! after watching i was thinking 'it's a really wasted thing that 70% of singapore aint gonna catch this... dont know what they're missing' seriously, even if you've never watched an hindustani movie in your life, take a chance wth this one. :)

<3>

i want to cry again. :)
