Was dilly dallying leaving the room today cos it already felt so chilly inside! I finally stepped out at around 1pm. BOY was it cold! Haha. It's the sort of rain that never seems to fall onto the ground cos the wind slaps it about so that the raindrops scatter instead of fall (not good for face!).. funny. and we were told that it hadn't rained in connecticut for 2 months until yesterday (the day that we arrived). Apparently it's been 90F till it dropped to the 60s yesterday. But they say it should get nice again in a few days time.
Anw, on to my adventure with the cold. I went out and was quite surprised at how much the temp. had dropped since yesterday (and i came in at night mind you). What surprised me even more is that people are walking around in t-shirts and shorts acting like this is acceptable weather to be doing so! meanwhile used-to-heat me has already dragged out her 1st piece of winter wear (a scarf. and i didn't bring a light one, so it's woolly and all). i'm glad i brought several clothes-with-hoods; wouldn't wanna be wearing a beanie yet, but i do need to cover my ears!
After a couple of hours going in and out of the cold, i think i actually stopped feeling so cold outside. I wonder if it was the temp. that had risen or maybe i'd really got better at feeling the wind (: hope it's the latter! Saw people running by in t-shirt and shorts, and i thought "hey i could do that too!". soon after, "maybe give it a couple more hours. or days. or weeks." haha by then it might already be officially cold.
Went by the co-op. all the buildings here are brick-red, so i had trouble finding my way about, but there's signs everywhere so i don't get lost for long (and this is with a map in hand haha). the university merchandise range is crazy! well compared to NUS of cos, i can think of a couple of unis. who'll have crazier merchandise than this. there's all sorts of things: things to wear, things to stick, things to drink from / place drinks on, things for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa (not kidding), things to clap, things to fly... haha and they come in many designs. very nice. unlike in NUS where that 1 corner of the co-op can collect dust and even then no one would notice it maybe.
here's pics of my room & the view from it, which is really nice i think. i just hope my roomie's okay.
