Aidilfitris come and gone

Hari Raya 2011~
Went to Geylang Serai bazaar twice during the fasting month (Ramadhan. Bought essentials (1. sing kong, 2. lekor, 3. ramlee burger) both times. Satisfied (: Short sentences.

Mom & kids wore matching-patterned baju kurungs in the teletubby colors: Mama = Yellow (Gold she says), Linda = Red, Lyna = Green, and Moi = Blue. Turned out blue seemed to be the color of the year (every year there's one color that many families happen to don; I guess this year we tried to cover as many bases as we could :P)... We were spot on last last year, in White (2010 was spent at UConn; no baju kurung required *beamz). Also, it was the first year all of us got our baju kurungs tailored instead of a last minute rush to obtain decent stuff off the shelves. I like (:

Dad the Clown (they should really rename Bozo) came in a pink baju kurung top + khakis + matching pink (striped) toe socks, of course. It was a lovely top.

2011 is a noteworthy year for being an awkward one for me in terms of green packets - about half the people (mostly the ones closest to me, come to think of it :-/ what does this mean?) have stopped giving me packets on the largely unspoken basis of my being a big kid now (nyehehe nevahhh) or sort of working (totally not counted lor!) while others continue to do so on the basis that I'm still in school. Think the age thing makes more sense, although the still in school thing benefits me more. Either way, I wish people would just make up their minds so *that awkward moment* when I'm greeting them isn't punctuated with an "errr" followed by more awkwardness on their part. Ah the teething stage of growing up? The moral of the story boys and girls, is it pays (ha.ha.) to celebrate CNY instead of Hari Raya given the higher likelihood that you'd start working before you get married.

The Family. (well part of it)
