i think i'll go to boston, where no one knows my name

Went to Boston over the weekend! I like the city.. History and culture sits so comfortably amongst business and modernity.

Our hotel was near the happening Faneuil Hall - the night that we arrived, we went there in search of dinner and saw many street performances - dancers, tightrope artists, a pair of good-looking buskers... And a car protest as a whole bunch of smiling cheering cyclists just filled/clogged up the streets by riding through them.

Sat. we went to Havard Square where the students were having orientation and stuff and the halls look nice. Then went to Newbury St. for shopping, mainly H&M and Finele's Basement which is one of those warehouse stores that sell off-priced branded goods (Y). The girls went pretty crazy shopping. We spent so much time at Newbury that we didn't manage to make it to Prudential Centre for F21 and Sephora.. but headed down to Haymarket station by subway instead after dropping by the Boston public library ( <3 ) where we were meeting the rest who had gone to Charles River instead of Newbury earlier.

Spent the evening at North End where there was an Italian festival - St. Anthony's Feast - going on and there was a little parade with a street food (and other things) market and the place was so packed, everyone had to move like in a herd lol. Reminded me of the night market we went to in Osaka, but even more crowded. Night markets are fun though; i like. Also reminds me of the one we went to in Bangkok. See i do like night markets(:

We stayed at Club Quarters hotel which Stephanie from UNSW had found - it is at a super convenient location, right smack along the freedom trail and we can practically walk / subway anywhere from it. Boston does deserve its title as "America's no.1 walking city"! Wish I got to spend more time there, may be going back again with Reg yay.
